KATHMANDU: The Guinness World Records has recognised record-holder mountaineer Apa Sherpa’s 20th ascent of Mount Everest. Apa in May reached the top of the world breaking his own record. “I have got the confirmation about Apa’s entry in the Guinness Book,” said Ang Tshering Sherpa, Chairman of Asian Trekking and immediate past president of Nepal Mountaineering Association. “As Apa publicised and promoted Nepal Tourism Year-2011 during his 20th ascent, government should also seize this opportunity and promote his entry into the Guinness World Records that will help develop adventure tourism in the country and tourism as a whole,” said Ang Tshering.
